What are Fitzpatrick Types?
The Fitzpatrick scale is used to determine one’s risk of skin cancer by rating the amount of pigment in their skin and how their skin reacts to the sun. Estheticians can use this scale to determine how one’s skin will react to different treatments. You may notice some PCA Peels are not recommended for Higher Fitzpatrick Types; this is because the peel could lead to possible hyperpigmentation or other negative skin reactions.
The scale below is used to determine one’s Fitzpatrick Type. Variations of ancestry can alter one’s Fitzpatrick Type, meaning a thorough consultation is important for all intensive facial treatments.
What is your Cancellation and Refund Policy?
Royal Retreat Spa does not refund money for products, procedures, or prepaid services.
All promotional prepaid services are good for 6 months, but the value amount paid never expires and may be used toward regular price services but not products.
I value your business and appreciate your cooperation with our cancellation policy. Please respect my schedule by keeping your appointments whenever possible and providing a minimum of 24 hours notice when canceling or rescheduling appointments.
Due to the limited availability and increase in late arrivals, cancellations for any reason within 24 hours will be charged a $50 cancellation fee and/or will incur a $25 rebooking fee for the next appointment. No call no show clients will be charged for their appointment and will not be able to reschedule under any circumstances.
What happens if I’m late to my appointment?
I understand that life can be unpredictable and delays can occasionally happen. For facial appointments, if you arrive later than 15 minutes, you’ll have a couple of options. You can choose to either proceed with your appointment, albeit with a reduced treatment time, or you can opt to forfeit the appointment, which will be regarded as a cancellation under the terms outlined in our Cancellation Policy.
For waxing services, I aim to provide you with the best experience possible. If you’re running late, I recommend contacting the spa as soon as possible. In such cases, rescheduling will be necessary, following the guidelines detailed in our Cancellation Policy.
Regarding chemical peel services, please note that the procedure involves specific timing for optimal results and safety. Regrettably, late arrivals may not be able to receive their scheduled chemical peel treatment, as it’s crucial to ensure the treatment time required for your skin’s well-being. Call the spa as soon as possible to see what the best solution is.

While I primarily operate by appointment to ensure focused and personalized treatments, I understand that sometimes spontaneity strikes. If the schedule allows and there’s ample time between appointments, I’m delighted to accommodate walk-in services. Your well-being is my priority, and I’ll always do our utmost to offer you the luxurious experience you deserve. To inquire about walk-in availability, please feel free to contact me or visit the spa in person. Time for intake forms is also considered in the times available for walk-in appointments.
